Spring is here and the Stockade Association Garden Tour Committee is hard at work organizing the 2016 bi-annual event for July 15 (3-8pm) and July 16 (10am–4pm). The tour logo – a sunflower, glowing in a blue sky over a Stockade streetscape, expresses this year’s theme of “Art and Nature.” At least 8 private gardens, public gardens, and all 3 Stockade churches’ gardens will participate. Making this year’s tour even more special, gardens will feature works of art installed exclusively for the Tour. Check out the Garden Tour Preview.
Committee members Sue van Heukelom and Suzy Unger have visited the gardens, matching art work to the dimensions and unique character of each space. A wonderful addition to this year’s tour is an open invitation to artists to enjoy the day working throughout the Stockade Historic District. Watching their creative process should prove fascinating!
The Garden Tour is the Stockade Association’s major fundraiser for 2016
