  Arthur's Market on a summer's day

Another view of Arthur's Market

No tour of  the Stockade would be complete without stopping by  Arthur's Public Market.  This cafe is a colorful focal point with it's cafe tables, welcome shade from the hot summer sun and a winter warming spot.

The market  always has  fresh coffee  and delightful soups and sandwiches.   You can spend time chatting with your neighbors at one of the sidewalk tables.

While you are there, don't overlook the statue of Lawrence the Mohawk Indian who befriended the colonists and helped them after the massacre of  February 8-9, 1690.  His statue figures prominently on the circle.
